Privacy Policy

This policy explains what ThetaRecap collects, why, and what we do with it. The short version: we collect the minimum needed to run the service — your email and the trading data you choose to upload — and we never ask for your brokerage login.

What we collect

• Account information: your email address, and authentication data needed to log you in.
• Data you upload: the broker CSV files you import and the campaigns, fills, and metrics derived from them. Your raw uploads are stored immutably so parsing can be re-run against the original.
• Billing information (when paid plans are live): handled by our payment processor. We receive subscription status, not your full card number.
• Basic operational logs: the technical records needed to keep the service secure and working (for example, error logs and request metadata).

What we never collect

We never ask for or store your brokerage username or password. ThetaRecap cannot log in to your broker or place trades. When automatic broker sync (via SnapTrade) ships, it uses access tokens rather than your credentials, and those tokens are encrypted at rest — your brokerage password still never touches ThetaRecap.

How we use your data

We use your data only to provide the service to you: to parse your imports, build your campaigns, compute and reconcile your figures, generate recap cards you ask for, and communicate with you about your account. We do not sell your data. We do not use your individual trading data to advertise to you.

Sharing and processors

We share data only with the service providers needed to operate ThetaRecap — for example, cloud hosting and storage, a payment processor for billing, and email delivery for account messages. When narration features are used, only the specific pre-computed statistics needed to write an insight are sent to the language-model provider; your raw files are not. Recap cards are private by default and become shareable only when you explicitly generate a public card.

Storage, security, and retention

Data is stored on reputable cloud infrastructure. We apply reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, encrypt sensitive tokens at rest, and limit access. We keep your data while your account is active. You can delete your account, after which we remove your data within a reasonable period, except where we must retain limited records to meet legal or accounting obligations.

Your rights

You can access and export your data, correct your account details, and delete your account at any time. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights over your personal data; contact us and we will honor applicable requests.

Children

ThetaRecap is not directed to anyone under 18 and is intended for adults who can legally open a brokerage account.

Changes and contact

We may update this policy; material changes will be posted here with a new “last updated” date. Privacy questions can be sent to the contact address published in the app.
